In Africa, the mentality of every graduate is to job hunt. This spooky mentality has been the bedrock of the educational system in most African countries. Little wonder there are many graduates (First-Class) without impactful lives. In other words, they are only EDUCATED but not ENLIGHTENED to drive the economy of the nation to a befitting level. #1. LINDA IKEJI

Linda is a Nigerian blogger, writer, entrepreneur and former model. She is best known for her blog (Lindaikejisblog/Tv).

Ikeji runs a program for girls called “self-made”, where she speaks to every lady that wants to make something of themselves. She believes every lady can make it through hard work and perseverance.

Linda was named among Africa’ 20 most prominent women by Forbes in 2012. She has a net worth of over N3.2 billion and still counting.

#2. UCHE PEDRO

Uche Pedro is the founder and CEO of Bellanaija, a Nigerian lifestyle, entertainment and fashion website and Bainstone Limited, a new media company. The blog attracts more than 10 million page views every month from readers across the world.

In March 2019, Uche was the award-winning young entrepreneur honoured with the Forbes Woman New Media Award. Currently, her net worth is N2 billion and still counting.

Seun is the founder of Nairaland.com. It is the most visited indigenous website in Nigeria. The website was launched in 2005. According to Forbes, it is credited to be the biggest African forum.

Seun was listed among T.I.N Magazines top #10 most influential Nigerian online entrepreneur in 2015. His worth is over N1billion and still counting.

The above-named trio founded jobberman, a recruiting firm, as an undergraduate at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 2009.

Jobberman is a Lagos-based, pan-African online job search engine. Today, the company has grown to become West Africa’s most popular job site and Nigeria’s number #1 recruitment platform, helping employers and jobseekers solve their recruitment and employment challenges respectively. #7. TEMIE GIWA-TUBOSUN

Tubosun is a Nigerian-American health manager whose business is to save lives. She founded LifeBank in January 2016, in a bid to improve access to blood transfusions in Nigeria. In August 31st 2016, Temie was privileged to meet with Mark Zuckerberg in a town hall meeting. Here is what Mark said about Temie:

If everyone had the opportunity to build something like this, then the world would be a better place… I’ve been to a lot of different cities… people around the world are trying to build stuff like that. If she actually pulls it off, then she’d show a model that will impact not just Lagos, not just Nigeria, but countries all around the world.

As at January 2017, the record shows that the company has helped deliver over 2000 pints of blood to patients across the state.

#8. ABUBAKAR FALALU

Any time you think of Falgates, a company that farms and mills rice, you are automatically thinking about Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Falalu.

Falalu is an astute entrepreneur who has empowered and employed not fewer than 200 people. His Falgates made a revenue of over $450,000 (over N144 million) in 2017 and still counting.

He was named among the prestigious Forbes Under-30 list and one of Africa’s most promising young entrepreneur.

#9. ETOP IKPE

Etop Ikpe is the founder and CEO of Cars45. He was previously the commercial director (Director, Marketplace Operations) of one of Nigeria’s largest e-commerce platforms known as Konga. Ikpe was the former Chief Operating Officer and co-MD of DealDey.

In 2009, Ikpe started an online fashion store called “Three Stitches“. It was regarded as the first in Nigeria.

In 2018, Ikpe was named in Forbes’ “30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs In Africa 2018” list.

#10. IGHO SANOMI

Sanomi is the founder of Taleveras Group (a Nigerian energy-trading company), a provider of strategic solutions in the energy and power sector. He emerged on the list of “The Choiseul 100 Africa Economic Leaders for Tomorrow”. He is an exceptional leader.

Here is what Forbes says about Taleveras:

Taleveras trades over 100 million barrels of crude oil as well as several million tons of gasoline, LPG and jet fuel. In April 2012, Taleveras acquired production sharing contracts (PSCs) for three offshore oil blocks in Ivory Coast. In June 2013, Taleveras sold a 65% stake in one of its Ivorian offshore upstream projects to Lukoil of Russia for an undisclosed price. Taleveras also owns a stake in a power distribution firm in Nigeria.
